As a 22 year resident of Bountiful, I believe our next legislative representative should be the voice of our great city and the voice of the people. In this campaign, my main issues will be for a better, ethical state government, more transparency in our state government, and a sensible economic development plan. However, my main campaign issue will be public schools. In this election year, I feel strongly that I am the only candidate in District 19 that will sincerely represent public education. As the number of students continue to grow, our challenges in funding public schools will also continue. That change begins now.
My entire campaign, up to the November elections, will focus entirely on Utah and local issues. I want the people of Bountiful to know that I will be a Representative for everyone. That includes Democrats, Republicans, Independents and the Unaffiliated. Over the years, the focus on solving local problems has given way to negative politics. That change begins now.
Public Education: Reducing class room size, Funding Public Schools appropriately and Properly Compensating Teachers (current and future).
Better Government Ethics: Support Independent Citizen Councils, Better Legislation for enforcing ethic rules and strengthening Conflict of Interest laws.
Improve Government Transparency: Reducing the amount of closed-door meetings in government and provide an easier access to public records.
Sensible Economic Development: Implement economic policy other than tax subsidies and make public schools more attractive for businesses seeking to relocate.
